The Legend of Nylon Pool

Nylon Pool got its name when Britain's Princess Margaret visited the area on her honeymoon in 1962. She likened the pool to the transparency of Nylon. Locals claim these turquoise waters carry rejuvenating powers to those who swim in them. Locals also claim young couples who kiss in Nylon Pool will have long-lasting love, making it one of the more romantic things to do in Tobago. Regardless of the validity of the supernatural powers, Nylon Pools does offer a great place to relax and rejuvenate. The sand on the meter-deep seabed is coral sand and it is definitely a refreshing outing.

A Really Unique Experience

"It is so cool to be standing up to your knees way out in the ocean. An experience not to be missed. Our glass-boat driver got into the water with us and found two large sea urchins for us to see and hold. The sand has an exfoliant effect --- really softens your skin." --23Diane

Beautiful Natural Pool in the Middle of the Ocean

"We went here as part of the glass bottom boat and Buccoo Reef trip. I didn't know what to expect, but it is a natural pool made of pure white sand about 3 feet deep [1 meter] with warm water in the middle of the ocean. Loverly to float around and relax. Well worth a visit." --54doc101

Best Experience Ever

"The Nylon Pool is one of the best experiences you could take. Cocktails in the middle of the ocean, who would not want to experience that? You have to catch one of the local boat cruises to get there. They take you to the coral reef and snorkeling to see the beautiful fish in the Caribbean Sea. This is a must-do when in Tobago. The boats are not fancy but the experience is unbelievable. You will not regret going on this adventure." --Tara F.
